Thera Cane Massager Review – Trigger Point Therapy at Its Finest

Raise your hand if you bought a massager during the lockdown.  It’s ok.  We did, too, and it’s saving our sore muscles right now.

Maybe you are missing the sauna at the gym and the relaxation it provides.  We miss the gym.  Do you think it misses us?  Speaking of the sauna, bring the sauna home with these sauna blankets.  You are going to love them.

Maybe you bought a massager that vibrates or moves, and it’s just not working for you.  We have the solution with the Thera Cane massager.

Most of us love a good back massage, but specific massagers are hard to place in the right spot.  This is where the Thera Cane massager works perfectly for hard-to-reach places.

We’ll review the Thera Cane massager and its sibling, the Thera Cane Max massager, to show you just how much you can benefit from a massager like this.

Trigger points for the win!

Trigger Point Therapy

If you’ve heard of trigger point therapy, then you know it’s all about applying pressure to your trigger points in your muscles and fascia to relieve chronic pain.

Trigger points are painful knots found in our muscles due to overuse or injury.

Think about that knot in your neck that hurts so good when someone rubs it for you.  That is a trigger point.

Trigger point therapy is often used in physical therapy to aid in soothing sore or even pulled muscles.

One study found that applying pressure on trigger points accompanied by stretching released the tension in trigger points to soothe neck and upper back pain.

If you haven’t reaped the benefits of a massage therapist, please book a massage stat.  Trust us.  You will thank us later.

Not only that, some methods of SMFR (self-myofascial release) or soft tissue mobilization proves to be beneficial for rehabilitation right at home.

The fact is tools like the Thera Cane massager bring comfort to the muscles through pressure while increasing joint mobility and improving range of motion.  If you can’t make it to a massage, perhaps you just need the right tool at home to work out the soreness.

Thera Cane Massager

This tool is all you need to find some much-needed pain relief.

Unlike other competitors, Thera cane massagers apply pressure to a targeted area depending on its placement.

The pressure gives more of a therapeutic effect than a relaxing massage.  Press and release the trigger point repeatedly to increase the flow of oxygenated blood to the muscles.

The improved circulation helps in treating the muscle.  You can also manipulate the cane to massage specific hard-to-reach areas in the upper and lower back, making it ideal for those with mobility issues.

This chronic pain tool comes with six nodules to pinpoint any area of the body that needs attention.  An instructor manual that comes with the product shows you exactly how to use it for each part of your body.

From holding the stick around your shoulder to target your upper back and neck to placing it under your thigh to use the knobs to relieve tricep pain, this tool will work out any of your problems from your legs to your neck.

Various routine exercises and different positions are available to view online to get the most out of your device.  Made of strong, durable fiberglass material and weighing only one pound, the Theracane device is a steal at just $29.95.

Which Thera Cane is Best?

Both Theracanes are great for different reasons.

The original Thera Cane massager is sturdier since it doesn’t breakdown into two pieces.  However, some folks love the Max because it can break down to make it easier to bring when traveling.

Honestly, they are similar in the benefits they give to your body, so either one is a good option.

Whether you are trying to do physical therapy at home for chronic pain or using the Thera Cane to relieve muscle soreness for an injury, your new massage therapist is a lightweight tool that you can easily hold to your problem areas and take the pain away.

Thera Cane vs. Body Back Buddy

First, try to say Body Back Buddy five times fast.  It’s difficult, y’all.

While doing the Thera Cane massager review, we found the Body Back Buddy as a potential competitor.  We decided to scope it out to see the differences between the two devices.

When comparing the Theracane to the Back Buddy, we found that while both tools work to provide deep pressure to your muscle and release much-needed tension in the trigger points.

The price for both products is comparable.  The Back Buddy (are you still saying it five times fast?) is $29.99.

The differences lie in the amount of knobs and the product’s texture, so we’ll take a glance at both to decide the winner.

Number & Type of Knobs

The Thera Cane massager comes with six knobs and the Max with seven.  The Body Back Buddy has eleven.

While some would think that more is better, we want to caution on that.  Because of the number of knobs on the Back Buddy, users have complained that the balls get in the way of having a comfortable grip on the product while using it.

There are handles available, but depending on what treatment you are trying to achieve, you may not hold the handles, and holding the bar can be cumbersome with the amount of massaging balls.

Also, buyers have stated that the Thera Cane massager handles are more comfortable than the Back Buddy handles.

The nodules on the Theracane are all rounded, while some of the nodules on the Body Back Buddy have a point to them.

It really depends on personal preference as to which one you like better.  Some users stated that the pointed nodules allowed for more precision in finding even the tiniest trigger points.

Others preferred the rounded nodules as they worked to put a more relaxing massage effect on the muscle knot.  There is no problem with either nodule.

It really just boils down to which one you prefer to buy.

Item Quality and Effectiveness

Thera Cane massager wins when it comes to product quality.

While both products are made from sturdy material, the Back Buddy texture is rough.  There have been lots of complaints about scratching the skin when using this product. In contrast, the Thera Cane massager has a smoother texture, making certain spots a lot easier and more comfortable.

The Theracane also has a little give to it making it easier to maneuver.  Both items effectively try to release tension in trigger points especially between the shoulders that cause neck and back pain.

It’s fair to say that either one would be an excellent addition to your fitness regimen.  With the versatile shape and enough pressure, you will find a whole new comfort level with a Theracane or a Body Back Buddy.

Theracane = Happy Muscles

Everyone wants happy muscles.

Get a Thera Cane massager in your life so that you can release the pressure and tension in your muscles after your fitness routines.  This tool is life-changing and needed for your recovery.

A top-quality product at a low price is what we are talking about, people!  High fives all around.  Oh, wait, it’s elbow fives these days!

Either way, buy one of these Theracanes and see for yourself what all of the fuss is about.
