ClassPass is an online platform that allows you to work out at home and reserve classes at local fitness studios by purchasing credits. 

You can use ClassPass for health spas and massage therapy as well.  Remember that haircut we discussed?  Get excited because it’s happening. 

The prices at the different studios are discounted for ClassPass users.  Did that get your attention?  Discounts are our favorite.  If you enjoy your home workouts and aren’t keen to head to a studio yet, ClassPass has you covered. 

The on-demand video streaming platform gives you access to over 4,000 workouts online.  Everything is organized into different categories, making it easy to find the training you want.

A mobile app is available to manage your subscription and access all of the online workouts. Are you traveling for work?  No problem. 

Use the app to access the videos from anywhere.  No more excuses, people!

How much does a ClassPass Membership cost?

If you are intrigued by the idea of having on-demand video workouts at your fingertips and access to your favorite local studios as well, then ClassPass is going to be for you.  Good news?  ClassPass offers a 14-day free trial, so you can understand precisely what a membership is like. 

Check out the platform and venture out to some of the local studios for classes.  Get access to four in-person classes in your local area for free.

Once you realize how awesome ClassPass is, you can sign up at the end of the trial. 

The paid plans are billed monthly and come with additional features like the on-demand videos and the credits used for classes in your local studios.  There are several different plans offered through ClassPass, so let’s go through each one.

Subscription #1

First, if you are just starting, this might be the plan for you. 

For only $9 per month, get access to all online videos and receive four credits.  That is enough to get one class in a local studio of your choice. 

There is no better way to start if you are new to exercise and want to get a feel for ClassPass.

Subscription #2

You have been working out at home this entire pandemic, and you are loving life.  Maybe you are ready to venture out a bit to get some exercise elsewhere too.  This plan might be just the thing for you. 

For $39 per month, get those home workouts in and receive 21 credits towards five classes in a studio near you. 

It’s time to challenge yourself to venture out to the gym and grab a friend to join you.

Let’s say you have been on Plan #2 for a bit, and you are enjoying getting out to the local studios.  The variety is what you need to increase your fitness level and you want more. 

Check out the plan that costs $59 per month, which gives you 33 credits.  That’s enough for nine classes a month. 

That’s two classes per week where you are out of the house and working out with the team.  Way to rock it!

It’s going down for real now. 

This plan allows for twenty classes a month in a studio near you.  That’s 72 credits in your pocket for $119 a month

If your motivation comes from in-person classes, check out the ClassPass option of 130 credits for $199 a month

That is the equivalent of 36 in-person classes.  Rock your workout with some much-needed studio time with your friends. 

Even though you get out of the house to exercise, the online videos are there for days that you can’t be bothered to get to the gym.  It’s the best of both worlds.

ClassPass is Easier to Cancel than a Gym Membership 

If, for some reason, you decide that ClassPass isn’t working for you, it’s super easy to cancel your membership. 

You can submit a request to be canceled at least one day before your next billing cycle. 

An example would be canceling on the 2nd of the month if you are usually billed on the 3rd.  Once you submit your cancellation, ClassPass’s support team will send you an email confirmation acknowledging your cancellation. 

If you do not receive a confirmation, make sure you re-submit a request to cancel.  You can utilize the app to cancel too. 

Even if you are doing the free trial and realize ClassPass is not for you, you can cancel the trial before it is complete.

Can ClassPass Users keep going to the same Studio?

We are creatures of habit.  Usually, when we find a fitness program that we love, it’s hard to steer us away from it. 

If there is a ClassPass studio that you are enjoying, use all of your credits towards classes at that facility—no need to change a good thing. 

Classes are always based on availability, and popular classes might be full, but that’s always the case wherever you go.  Schedule your classes early to make sure you get into your favorites. 

Whenever you decide you want to change to a different place, try a new class and go for it. 

There are no limitations when it comes to mixing up your ClassPass studios.  As long as they are on the list of affiliated studios and you have enough credits to use, they are fair game.

Is a ClassPass membership worth it?

We think so, and here’s why. 

No matter what ClassPass option you choose, you are getting access to over 4,000 workouts right at home. 

Do a class right at home.  There are tons of options, from kickboxing to yoga to barre classes.  Choose your favorite class and get to work in your home gym. 

The great thing about ClassPass is you can change your membership at any time or add credits to your account without even changing your subscription. 

If you know that next month, you will have more time to get to the studio, add some credits to your account and get to them.  If you decide you want to start exercising more outside your house, change your plan for the long-term.  There are so many options available to you.

Another great thing about ClassPass is the ability to build up your credit and move it to the next month if need be. 

Don’t stress if you didn’t get into the studios as much as you wanted.  Your credit won’t go bad.  You can rollover the credits. 

If there is a studio you have been aching to get to but have been turned off by the monthly rate, ClassPass might be precisely what you need. 

Get into that facility in an inexpensive way.  The studio still makes some money even at that discounted rate.  Plus, you get more for your money due to the online classes.

Pros:

  • The ClassPass is versatile Use your credits to book a fitness class at your local studio or for a haircut or massage at the local salon or spa.  You decide how you use your credits based on your wants and needs.
  • The App gives you access to all of the online videos so you can do your workout from anywhere.  Available on Android and iOS devices, schedule your sessions right from your mobile device or manage your monthly pass.
  • The trial period offers you four free sessions at your local studios.
  • There are plenty of facilities that have partnered with ClassPass.

Cons:

  • Some of the facilities affiliated with ClassPass are too far away for some customers.
  • Fourteen days isn’t long enough to try it out for free.  Also, you are not able to try the online streaming workouts until you sign up and pay.
  • Some of the plans are pricey.

Fight the Sedentary Lifestyle

Sedentary lifestyles contribute to many health issues. 

Reports relate it to obesity and heart problems.  The report also showed that one in three people over the age of fifteen became sedentary for most of their lives.  How scary is that?
